I use a turboflotor 1000 on my 90G that is very heavily stocked and it works like a champ! Takes a little tuning to get it dialed in but once you do it works wonders.
Oh, and I replaced an ASM miniG with the turboflotor. This same skimmer ran my clubs 180G tank for a couple of years.
I am about to drill my 300G DT for a closed loop and here is my proposed hole layout. The tank is 96"L x 24"D x 30"T.
All of the blue holes are returns and the red is the feed.
It's a 2" feed and the returns are 3/4" fed by a 1.5" manifold behind the tank.
The 2 holes on the bottom will feed...
This tank only lasted a couple of months before I got tired of fighting the battle with nitrates and the built in over flow system. I sold it to another local reefer who was second in line when I bought it and replaced it with a 90G which is also now about to come done for something along the...
I have 100+ in my clean up crew, from blue leg crabs to snails in 3 varieties.
I skim pretty wet and do very regular water changes to help maintain water quality for my overloaded tank.
How about a +15 gallons list? My 90G is pretty heavily stocked.
2 saddle back clowns
1 Chocolate Tang
1 Sohal Tang
2 pink anthias
1 coral beauty
1 fox face
1 fuzzy dwrf lion
1 sixline wrasse
The Sohal, chocolate and foxface will all be going in the 300 once things are finished up.
I know this is an older thred but here's my Aussie HT at feeding time with some home brew food. He scoots all over the tank and doesnt both any other inhabitants, including the inverts(for now).
I keep a Male Blue Jaw in my 150 and have zero problems with him touching any inverts. I had a female as well but I couldn't get her to eat so she didnt make it. :(
I had my copperband for about 6 months. It cleaned up aptasia with a quickness. I have a pretty diverse tank with sps, lps, zoas as well as 3 clams. I did not have any problems with it nipping at anything that it was not supposed to. I lost it to my vortech. :(
I have a 6ft 29" deep tank and I run 250s with lumuen max pendants... They make a night and day difference in light spread. I can run 2 of these pendants and it looks as good if not better than 3 spider reflectors. With 3 there is no comparison. I did change from moguls to HQI.
