    New 29g biocube diary :)

I'm hoping the fuzzy mushrooms in the right corner start reproducing and kinda make a carpet on the tank floor. I want the clowns to host them too, but we'll have to see about that. I want to cover the floor with zoas and ricordias eventually.

My first Tang....Yellow Eye Kole Tang :)

I live in Newport News right now. I've been in the hobby on and off for like 6 years and just found Reef chief earlier this week haha. And if what you're soaking your food in works for you, I'd stick with it.

My first Tang....Yellow Eye Kole Tang :)

For the tang I would go to the grocery and get nori sheets vs. buying them from the fish store. Also just be patient it will come out and be all over the tank in time. I see you live in the 757 what fish stores do you go to?

    Mutant polyp

That actually looks like a plate coral. There was probably part of the skeleton on the rock and the coral just grew from that. Those things are pretty neat. If the coral dies and you leave the skeleton in the tank, in a couple months the skeleton is covered in lots of little tiny plate corals.

    New 29g biocube diary :)

Nope I don't really like sand and I wanted to try a bare bottom tank. I think I'll probably end up covering the bottom with zoas, or rics, or maybe the clove polyps I already have.

    New 29g biocube diary :)

I know what the hair algae and all the green stuff is. We're working on that, my boyfriend brought some rocks home and said hey look what I got you. He just doesn't know the difference between good and bad algae yet The sticks are hard and brittle. They snap off if you bend them and the leaves...

    New 29g biocube diary :)

I've had other tanks in the past and I find sand to be a pain in the butt. Either I have too much flow and it clouds the tank or the fish or CUC stir it up and it clouds the tank. So I thought I should try bare bottom. And I'm not talking about the hair algae, that's getting taken care of, I'm...

The water level isnt that low the pumps are all off right now. I decided I would take advantage of the new suncoral opening up and feed it tonight.

    New 29g biocube diary :)

I've had this set up for about 2 months. Went shopping today for some new light bulbs and a new powerhead and found some deals I couldn't refuse. We bought a hammer coral, sun coral (with about 8 small heads), and neon green clove polyps. I already had 2 peppermint shrimps and 4 astrea snails...

    What do you guys recommend?

I have a 29g biocube that I'm setting up after about 2 years out of the hobby. What do you guys recommend as far as heaters and powerheads go? I was thinking about putting a stealth 100w in the 1st chamber and getting a koralia 1 (the 400gph one) for in the tank. Do you guys think this would be...

    Cool Money Saving Tips...

My best money saving tip is to buy 1 or 2 pieces of liverock and buy the rest as baserock. Also if you know what you're planning to keep coral wise, buy the light you need at the beginning instead of upgrading every 2 years.
