i have a 100 gal tank. i use three powerheads, one on each side, and one in the middle. the a.c. 4000 is moves a goos amount of volume. i would vary the gph on the three powerheads. this will give you different currents in the tank. good luck, and ask all the questions you want here.

you state you have one cord, does this unit need two cords? and does this unit run 1 light or 2?

i had one of each, but it was in a 100gal. i think you be alright. mine ignored each other for the most part. i think you would have trouble if you had two of a kind

there is a black hose on top, the hose has to be placed into one hole to start it up and then placed into the second one to keep it going. try and switch these around and see if that helps.
