    Little Help :)

no experience with that brand but looks fine for a softcoral or LPS tank (PC lighting). I purchased a JBJ28g HQI several months ago as my first nano tank and have to say the all in one tanks are a nice way to go. Might want to shop around as there are some specials out there now with tank and...

    28gal hqi

I have this tank and think it's great. Have not had the heat issue that others mention as my house is pretty cold and I have a fan blowing across the return section in the back. Negatives are the skimmer as it's poorly designed and you need to remove the collection cup every time you need to...

LED's How long are you running them

Just curious what everyone is doing with the LED night lights on their tanks. How long do you run them and do you give the tank any period of total darkness?

Which tank to buy (standard lights enough)

seems to be personal opinion as to which is better as haven't heard anything terrible about any of them. I went with the JBJ for the lighting and at the time it was JBJ 28HQI and stand for $499.00 so that was hard to pass up.

Which tank to buy (standard lights enough)

Best to go with the biggest tank you can afford/support that you have room for. Only you can determine what that is. The all in one units out now are all pretty good. I recently purchased a JBJ 28HQI and love it. Others prefer the Biocube line or the aquapod or other brands. I chose the JBJ for...

    28g HQI Nano Cube System??

I've had the JBJ 28HQI set up since March of this year. HQI Lighting is great keep anything you want with no worries I have not experienced the heating problems others have mentioned but I do keep the house at 73. Skimmer is only real complaint as it is weak and poorly designed so that it blocks...

    Berghia Nudibranch

Anyone try these for Aptasia removal? I really don't want to dimantal my rockwork to get at all the aptasia I need to remove and pepermint shrimp are worthless or at least the ones I have are at gettign rid of the aptasia.

    Salami Trigger's Nano My Way

I used that same sand a few months ago, waste of $$ IMO. Nothing live about it and I really wish I had washed it first as the days long dust cloud was pretty bad. and that fine particle dust keeps moving around weaks later.

    Nanocube or Biocube

I've got the 28g HQI Nano Cube. Good product so far (been set up since early March). Quiet and you can't beat the HQI lighting. Negatives about the JBJ 28g are: Skimmer is weak and badly designed, you need to remove it to open the lid which really sucks. No internal timers for the lights: sucks...

I've got the 28g JBJ cube and it's very quiet. Like everyone else I would suggest you go bigger if it's possible.

Which Company Makes the Best 29g Nano Tanks?

I've got the JBJ 28g HQI, set it up on 4/3/09. It comes with two PH's which is nice but I still added a Korilla 1 for extra flow. strangely enough the knock outs to run the korilla cord through are only on one side of the back of the lid which is strange, not sure why they did not put one on...

    input from nanos...Please...

Best advice ever given to me is in this hobby smaller is not easier larger is easier so go with the largest tank you can afford. Larger tanks are more forgiving of your learning curve mistakes and no matter how much prep or research you do first you will make mistakes. good luck and be...

    Do I still need them??

I bought my 28gal HQI Nano Cube two weeks ago and it's still cycling but I was concerned about heat so I have run the lights for up to 8 hrs and only obsevered a 1 - 1.5 degree temp rise. I was worried about it at first but not so much now. I do plan on having a fan on the back blowing across...

    New Nano On The Way!

congrats. I just set mine up last weekend and put the rock in yesterday to kick off the cycle. Really like the nanocube hqi except for the skimmer, that was pretty much a dissapointment, both in the quality and the design which doesn't let you open the lid unless you remove the skimmer.
