    *****...WOW!

A LFS should always be able to provide a better quality product, and better service than any big box store. That doesn't seem surprising to me, plus finding knowledgeable people to staff a livestock department isn't easy in the first place.

    Marine Betta or Comet Fish

Does anyone have one of these in their reef tank? I recently acquired one from a gentleman who passed away. It hasn't caused any problems with my inverts at this point, but I was curious if anyone else had any experience with them. Thanks

    Nova Extreme 8x54

I have a 6 bulb nova pro extreme, a 4 bulb standard Tek light, and some MH. Overall, I really like the look MH lights provide, the light seems to penetrate further. I like the look of the tek fixture, it does not have any fans, and the Nova pro extreme is really pretty nice for the price.

My brother has a panel shop, so I'll check with him to see what he does to keep from snapping bits all day.

    Canopy heat

The black temp probe in the photo is my water temp. It stays at 78.something all day and night due to a chiller.

    Canopy heat

My MH ballasts are in the cabinets below, but my nova pro obviously is self contained. My MH have only been on for 30 minutes, so the temp in the canopy hasn't quite reached 90 degrees. I am adding 2 more 24" T5 bulbs to supplement the light under my MH. I have 2 fans in my canopy, and I've...

What MH bulbs are you using? Your aquarium has an awesome blue color.

    150 Wide Reef Build

I've seen some white aquariums that look awesome, so I am a fan of white stands and canopies. If you are making your own stand and canopy remember to use hardwoods if possible. They are far less like to warp due to heat and moisture. There is an additional benefit of painting and that is you...

Tring to decide between 7 ft long 265 gallon or a deep dimension 300 gallon reef tank

What I would pick would depend on the dimension of your sunroom, and how long in the wall your putting it on? I would go for the deep if I was putting it on a short wall, where it would take up the entire wall, otherwise I would go with the 265 if it was on a long wall, so it wouldn't stick out...

    Neptunes 72" Custom LED system.

The cost to purchase a manufactured LED light at that length would be frightening to a cheap skate like myself.

    piggy back fuge

Yeah, ball valves would be mandatory for what your wanting to do. You can't ever get the water to work exactly the way you want, but valves allow you to manipulate the flow from your aquarium, or back into your aquarium. They are exactly what you will need to use to be happy. You should...

No, I don't experience much evaporation surprisingly (suppose this is subjective), and I have a dehumidifier in my filtration room which takes a couple weeks to fill up, a 5 gallon container. I make up 25-30 gallons of water in a rolling brute trash can that I use over 2 weeks, but I thought I...

Yes, but drilling your top tank would be much easier. My aquarium dumps into a 110g tub, and then pours into a 40g tub. The only surprise I found out was my 1.5" drain to my 110 drains marginally faster than my 2" drain to my 40g tub. I'm assuming this has something to do with having more...
