I wouldn't see a problem with restricting flow by using silicone or another way to restrict flow. Don't clean them is another option.

I was thinking about purchasing one but a few questions. Does the unit have a pully / belt running on top of the unit? Also does the wave2k middle of the unit move when the unit is running? On the web site the video looked like the unit pulses like a chest breathing. Thanks

Get rid of the bio-balls # 1. Canister filter is not needed. Buy the biggest most effective skimmer you can afford. Install a refugium instead of the bio-ball and canister filter.

How did you acclimate the corals to the new lights? Also have you gone to that lfs yet?

One lfs I used to patron the owner drives a H2 Hummer. They sell anything to anyone. I understand making a profit but killing a living creature for $$ is just wrong.

Just be carefull about the owner taking advantage of you. He's not going to tell you wholesale prices, so he will be paying less than minimum wage for your services. I've been to LA and bought wholesale, there's a huge mark up. As long as your happy with the deal, go for it, this is an expensive...
