So I assume this could be the culprit for the zoa's irritation. Underneath the zoa's is the same thing. I have been manually removing these with a pair of tweezers, but they seem to be all over the place. I appreciate the response, if anybody else here wants to chime in on ways to irradicate...

Anybody? Nobody has any idea what this is? Am I the only one lucky enough to have this problem?

    ID Please

I have this pic posted in the Zoa's forum. Anybody over here know what these things are to the bottom right of my yellow polyps? It seems to be irritating these and one other colony of my zoa's. Any help would be great.

    Irritated Zoa's

Not sure if to the bottom right is the irritation to the zoas? Should I put this in the ID forum?

    Irritated Zoa's

I appreciate that response, I have been very sceptical about dipping them in freshwater. This of course is the largest colony I have. I will have to see if my LFS has some lugal's on the way home. Can you use the Kent Iodine? I have that at home, but I beleive someone on here said not to use it.

    Irritated Zoa's

I have three tangs, two damsels, two percs, a bangi, and a pink square anthias. Typical inverts, hermits, a couple of bumble bees, nasau snails, and thousands of astrea (spelling?) star fish, along with a couple of serpent stars, and a formia. All in a 150 x high. I cannot post pics at this...

Upgraded my FOWLR to Reef (w/ pics)

Sweet, I was wondering were you were with this project. I am sooo jealous of the 8' tank. Let me know if you want some GSP, or Mushroom frags to get you started.

    Irritated Zoa's

My one colony of Zoa's was doing great, and they slowly but surely became irritated, it does not look as if I have lost any, but they are all irritated and smaller than usual. It seems as if there are formerains (spelling)? growing at the base of them, I don't see nudi's. I want to dip them...

    asterina star?

At least I am not the only one fighting that battle. I siphon them out when I clean the tank. How is that in-wall setup going NigerBang?

    asterina star?

I am not sure if my formia, or my two serpent stars would appreciate that. I would assume the harlequin is not partial to eating asterinas.

    asterina star?

I didn't see any reason to remove them either, now they are out of control 1,000 plus. And I keep having to pluck them off of my GSP, they have killed half of the colony at this point. I guess I am the lucky one that got the predatory type of asterina starfish.

    My new 80 gal.

I will have to give that a try, my overflow box is different, but it sounds like a waterfall. What did you use? A PVC "T", cap, and a check valve? Just like the Druso's for drilled overflows? Nice looking tank by the way.

Did you make that "durso" pipe for your overflow? I have been wanting to do that, but I was not sure if it would fit in the overflow box.

Coral Keepers 180 gallon reef diary.

Look at the first pick in this thread, the back has seams with rounded front corners, the crack appears to be on one of the rounded front corners.

I think his tank was seamless, at least at the corners.
