nybyrne, I got the hello lights 46.5" 440 watts kit back in Feb. and I just love it. The ballast does not get hot and my tank looks terrific - not to mention the really cool purple-blue glow that surrounds my house now :cool: good luck!

That's a good point, and I did try to move them but they are both attached and I thought that I shouldn't rip them away. I have heard that the worm might leave the tube and go to a different location if they were unhappy - did I hear wrong?

The Rio pump on my CPR bak-pak finally kicked and I have heard that it may be replaced with a Maxi-Jet 1200 if I buy some venturi conversion kit. Does anyone know where I can get one of these kits and if the skimmer will still work as well? Thanks :p

another vote for the maxi-jet 1200's - I have 2 in my 55 and they are extremely quiet. The tank has only been up since Dec., but I have had no problems with them.

DAB, the Home Depot in Waterford, CT had a bunch back in Dec. when I started up my new tank. I don't know if they still have it though, I will check next time I am there. It might be worth a call if the other stores don't pan out. I think you will be very happy with it. happy hunting

it is not an IceCap ballast, although it is an electronic ballast. Many here have this light set-up with no problems. they haven't been around as long as IceCap so they don't have the reputation yet. they are very easy to install and the customer service is great.
