Personally I would just do a massive waterchange today, and another tomorrow. Oh, and if you're not already I'd run some carbon for the next week or so just to be on the safe side.
I have a 48" stand that has a 48" x 22.5" footprint. The way it's set up currently it takes up a 2'x4' footprint due to a 3/4" piece of ply. Asking $250 or best offer
90g acrylic tank. Drilled with a black back. 2 overflows, 2 returns. All bulkheads included. Asking $150 obo
I also have a mag3...
SCS has a good idea too. If you just take at trip to HD and try to explain to them what you want in the electrical/lighting dept. then they should have what you need.
Forgot where I read about it, but they sell timer switches of the kind you often find at hotel hot tubs, where you twist for up to an hours worth of the swtich being on. They also sell these switches w/ the default position as on and the timed part being off.
Razorblade the colt. Take the cut pieces and loosely (tight enough to keep them in place, but not so tight as to cut through it) rubberband the piece to a chunk of rubble. Put in a nice spot with a little flow, but not too much. If possibly (esp since it's a nano) take the entire colt out to cut...
Actually Ant, you can get a new tank and transfer everything over. But moving your substrate will release some ugly stuff into the water. However, you will probably be needing more sand anyways, so might as well just put that in before things move. Using old water, rock and sand will help with...
NM I know what you mean. I'll stand there for ages looking at my reef. Then I decide I should be productive and go into my room....and spend another half hour just looking at my nano. Oh, by anychance is that a Luther's Prawn goby? sorta looks like mine.
my shrimp will eat anything organic that is/was meat. They eat flake food, pellet food, brine, mysis, basically anything that goes in the tank. Oh, btw, the shrimp are 2 cleaners, 2 peps, and 1 fire. HTH
Not sure what you mean by what kind? I usualy just classify as zoos, and then I think those are pink w/ brown skirts. Something along those lines.. just my .02
How long is a long weekend? 3days out of the house? At the rate you seem to be gone, I would invest in an auto-topoff system as msd mentioned. It'll make things less worrisome during travel, and also just get rid of one chore while you're at home. As for feeding, if you're only gone 3 days I'm...
Eggcrate can be found in home depot and probably other home improvement/hardware shops. Personally I don't bother with it unless I have something that can/will jump. Lots of fish can jump, I've heard of percs going, hawks going, but I hear a lot about firefish jumping. Never heard of a damsel...
in a 55g, I'd probably toss some more hermits in, maybe 5-10. Some might die, but depending on your cost, it'll be nothing compared to what you'll spend on your upcoming corals :-P How old's your tank. Is it done cycling? If it is, then toss some snails in. There's diff kinds, do some research...
for some reason, everything you say makes perfect sense to me. i've spent more time, money, and effort with my tanks than I have with my classes. oh well, now im heading towards marine bio h*
So basically your tank right now is LR and some inverts? How long are you going on vacation for? If it's only a few days I wouldn't worry about feeding. As is, if you only have hermits and snails then definitely don't have to feed every day. Also, you don't necessarily have to change 1g of...
