How should I deal with keeping the water temp stable? And also should I try and get some type of powerhead set up inside?

i agree about the cucumbers. i was asking this same question last week at my lfs and the guy recomended a cucumber and the combo of hermits and the cucumber have done a pretty good job of keeping the sand clean

well i hope that's true. he does have a few grey stripes around his body and the fin he perches on is pretty grey

Jobob thanks for the help, I tried just leaving my ballast on tonight but haven't a real chance to leave it on for too long because its on a timer and went off, but I'll try leaving it on while I'm at school tomorrow. I feel like such a struggler when it comes to anything about my lighting setup...
