I got a 65g tank. This will be my first saltwater tank.

Once the bag is full, empty 1/2 of the water, then continue.

Most cichlids will eat their first batch. But what was observed may have not been them eating the fry. They will pick them up in their mouth to clean them or move to another spot in the tank.

All you have to do is feed them and keep their water clean. Put a piece of nylon (stocking), or a sponge over the filter intake to keep it from sucking the babies into the filter. If you have been feeding flakes, finely crush them, (it's easier if you cursh them in a ziplock bag), and feed...

I agree, I would not worry about it being 1/8" off. If it was to the point where you had to shim it, I never put shims directly under my tank. Cut a piece of plywood to fit the bottom of your stand. Do all shimming beneath the plywood. That way your stand sits on a flat surface. HTH Dorothy
