An LFS has a couple big rocks. They are mesmerizing at any size, but esspecially in big chunks. I hope to have a species only tank, for fuge and fragging.
You'll have to trim them an awful lot. They'll root to the rock too. I did it while I built my 'fuge and overflow. I resorted to a specimen box too, it sucked. My sister has some in her 10G. I feel it's beneficial to our systems. It's just another thing to manage in the system. A refugium helps...
I'm truely upstate. Saratoga county. I don't have any xenia to trade, this is my first and only piece, it's only really a frag itself. Hopefully I'll keep my system happy and have more than I know what to do with soon enough.
I put this in about a week ago and the tiny clusters at the base receded. I've kind of filed the recession under acclimation and have notice some small growth around the edges. This morning I noticed this protrusion from the side pointing down. Is this new growth reaching for the rock? That'd be...
I just got them, our host says temperature for xenia and 1+ hour for frogspawn. Is this good to go? They've been in their bags for less than an hour. I'll post pics of our newest additions later, when they're open and pumping.
...cover the lights not the tank. Mount a piece of acrylic (plexi or glass) in the hood. The tank can "breath" and the fixture won't get creepy. Make it so it's easily removed so you can wipe it down when it needs it. I recommend vinegar for cleaning salt creep.
Mechanicville is in Saratoga co. Our most recent claim to infamy was an F5 tornado 6 years ago. Decresente covers a lot of area supplying most of the state and parts of others with beer. mmm beer
I just bought new lights and in my research I found that vho bulbs have about 6 good months in them...
I don't have vho experience, but from what I've read 2 yrs would be past their prime(to say the least).
He delivers for Decresente Distributing (here) in Mechanicville.
I'd love to get some xenia now that the peppermint shrimp have been relocated to the 'fuge. They cleaned off the frag I bought real quick. I'm in the area and love to barter.

Hey Yellowtail,
Watcha got to frag? Interested in a swap? I've got some mint/chocolate zoos, bright green hairy and blue(more like purple) shrooms and green star polyps that I might be interested in trading. Email me if you want pix.
I did it while hastily fixing the "straw" on top of my homemade weir. I'm going to keep an eye on the pep's in the 'fuge, I think they'd be effected first.
