My tank has been getting brown spots all over and even in the sand. I have done water changes but it still does not solve this. How can I clean the brown/dirt out of the sand and keep my tank from getting dirty? See attached pic. Thanks for any help

It is ok to have my filters output under water? It is completely quiet that way and it is annoying to listen to it when it is above the water. The LFS has their's under water but I wanted to get everyone elses opinion on here. Thanks

What exactly does a PS do? Does it hook some way to a filter or is it run totally independant? Everyone seems to have one so I figured I should get one but I don't know what for. I have a 55g tank with live sand, 35lbs. of live rock and I am running a cascade Penn Plax filter. Thanks
