I'm new at this so take the suggestion as a grain of salt. I'm thinking since the new lights are more intense that's what caused it so maybe turn them off for a couple days (if possible) let the algae go away then turn them on for more extended periods each day until everything gets use to them...

I have the Aquarium Pharmeceuticals Saltwater Liquid Master Test Kit... don't have my tank up yet, but glad to hear it got some good reviews by someone... after I bought it was i saw a couple posts here and there of people complaining how much some kits suck and i was starting to worry.
