What is the best bed to have in a tank, sand? How hard is the tank to clean when doing a water change, if you have lr??? At the moment I have to take all ornaments out when cleaning the tank to extract food and waste from the bottom.

I have a 50litre tank and had a ammonia spike that resulted in the death of one of my clowns. I put it down to uneatin food remaining in the tank. In the tank is a CBS and a juvy clown. Can you give me some of advice of a good clean up crew to prevent this happening again. I have no live...

yep i only got one cbs. Is it possible just to get rid of the shells and replace it with sand or something. Dont want to start another cycle

Oh what is a powerhead i am a newbie of course. Can u get away with a skimmer and live rock in say a 50 litre and a 150 litre???

the only thing i can think of was the filter was turned off for a few seconds or just to much food in the tank. I thought the CBS would of cleaned it up. My clown has had it it think cause it is resting on the bottom and gives a kick now and again.

I have heard that you need a skimmer to help keep uneatin food from causing dramas. What do u reckon??? How can u run your tank without a filter????

i feed them pellets and mysis shrimp. once a day normally they are only juveniles. i checked the nitrite and nitrates and they were good. my filter is a hang on the side one (aquaclear). when u clean the filter do u use fresh water or tank water???

Nah i dont have live rock. Can do a water change though.
