A co-worker gave me his 5yr old VS3-24 w/o pump skimmer with the hang on kit to try out. He only used it for 2 years and said it worked great.
My question is how much should I offer him for it and what size pump would I need? Also can I hang it on the side since I didn't leave that much room in...
We have a Foxface Rabbitfish and we love him. He has a great personality, very colorful, changes color when scared, eating, sleeping.... Not sure if 44g is too small when full size...we have a 75g
Look him up under tangs
Don't know if that helps?
Welcome Happy, I just started myself about 4 month ago with a 75g FOWLR tank. I did a lot of research before hand and am still learning tons every week through this board and trial and error. My experience so far is the bigger the better and more room for error. So far we have about $1200...
I've looked at the Prism model, and your right some love and some hate it. It looks so different and cheap compared to most other models. Maybe I can buy a HOB and if I ever get a sump I can still put it in there.
What about the specs. and the livestock list, does it look about right for a 75g...
Actually I would like to hear advice about anything so far.
I've been looking around at skimmers and the choices are making me dizzy. I was thinking about a sump/refugium, but money becomes an issue. What would be the main advantage to a sump/refugium as oppossed to just a HOB skimmer? I...
I saw this same setup online, was thinking of purchasing. What all comes with it? Is everything in the picture included and what else would I need? I also have a 75g tank, I just got started about 3 months ago.
I hope you don't mind me posting this on your thread.
Any help would be greatly...
What we did to start was put the saltwater in the tank, let it age and dissolve with just the heater and powerheads on for a day or 2. Then make sure all the filters are working, then you can add live rock and live sand. You don't want to run filters until the salt has had a liitle time to...
True, we were hoping by limiting the chromis to 3 we would have more room for other cool fish, but 5-6 was our original plan. Maybe we should stick to it.
is it too soon to add 2-3 more this weekend?
75gal tank, 80lbs LR, 60lbs LS
The snails seem to eating a lot of the green plant growing on our live rock, but there is tons more. We were thinking then just getting maybe hermit crab and a few more little ones (don't remember what they were called).
We just finished cycling last weekend and added 3 blue/green chromis, 3 small snails on Sunday. A couple of ?'s, the snails are doing great so far. One of the small Chromis is hiding most of the time and when he does come out gets harrased by the biggest one, the other two swim around together...
Being that I already have a twin bulb set, would I just add more lights next to them or should I start over and buy all new stronger lights and which ones?
We've been following advice from book "The new marine aquarium" and 3 people at LFS. So far we have 80lbs of LR (fiji) aquascaped and all test show the levels are normal. The question is we just bought 80lbs of LS at LFS, we have had some peoplie tell us we should have added the sand first then...
