nope.. not too big! Just think.. instead of 55 gallon tank, ya got a 85 gallon now = lot more water to dilute any mistakes. 30gal sump should give you nice room for anything you want to put down there.. large heater, skimmer&pump, return pump, bioballs?, or a fuge if you plan on doing that.
