Do i need a fan for the lights?

Is it ok to leave your fishes and various other inhabitants in your tank while adding sand? Will the cloudy water affect them in any way? I am thinking of switching also because my nitrates are ridiculously high and being that i have so much live rock i would have to take all of it out to vacuum it.

My fireshrimp layed on his side once, and that was when i found out he was dead. I dont think that is a normal behavior. You should make sure you water parameters are in check.

So to my understanding i should add pH buffer, as well as calcium and alkalinity to my tank?

My pH is 7.8, i dont have a test kit for calcium. I suppose i will get one tomorrow. I didnt know that you needed to add anything for growth on rocks.

I tried giving mine flake food and they wouldnt even touch it, but once i fed them mysis shriimp, they went nuts for it and gobbled it right up. Try mysis shrimp.
