Can you get base rock to have the purple colors like fiji premium lr? also does it come in big pieces as well or just a lot of small chunks?

My lfs wants $7.00 per pound for LR. Also if I am using a 40 gallon display with a 29 gallon sump/ref with 15 gallons of ref and 14 of sump would I need LR for 69 a 1.5-2 lbs per gallon or LR for 55 gallon (Display + Ref)?
