My tank has been up and running for about a year. I needed more rock in it and so I added base rock to the tank. All of a sudden im getting what I think is diatom?? Its brown and sticking to the rocks comes off pretty easy with a turkey baster. Its almost growing faster than I can remove.

Can putting baserock into an established tank cause a cycle????

Hi all, First time posting long time watching. Fairly new to the hobby about a year. My question is: We are going to upgrade our lighting to t5 how do you figure out what size fixture to get? We have a 55 gal it measures 48"L. So do we get a 48" fixture or a 36" any help would be great...
