Tell me what you would build....

Okay, so I might have an idea on how to get a 48" wide tank in there. I am going to remove the wall board completely and leave it bare studs in the cubby. That should give me the 48” I need. I went looking at tanks and glasscages has a 150 tall tank that is 48x24x31. What I am thinking...

Tell me what you would build....

As stated in the original post, the wall is load bearing or I would knock it out. I would love to make that space wider and get more width for the tank. The room behind it is a bathroom, more specifically, the shower is behind it. Although a window to the shower might not always be a bad thing.

Thanks for the input. The pellet stove is an insert into the old wood burning fire box. There is space between the stove and the fire bricks. The area behind the tile in the wall is open air. The cubby doesn't get any hotter then the rest of the room, which when the stove is on is the high...

Tell me what you would build....

Thank you for the input. I am kinda frustrated because I want something that looks nice, but I don't know what to do. It sucks that the width is what it is. My last thought was to make a 47" wide, 24" deep, and 42" tall tank, but everyone says that won't work, so what will?

Tell me what you would build....

Dimensions: 78” tall, 47” wide, 24” deep. Will have 10’ of access above the tank if needed. I originally posted some thoughts on this space in the FOWLR section, but I am thinking that I want a reef tank with live rock, inverts, fish, but I am undecided on coral. Since no one...

Thinking about building a custom 380 gallon...

salt210: Thanks for the input. There isn't a budget, just want to do it right the first time and not get stuff I don't need. small triggers: I will have ample room to get to stuff from the top as I am building up into the attic and the roof is 7' over the top of the cubby. I think 3 1/2' is...

Thinking about building a custom 380 gallon...

So, after posting here and reading other places, I have changed the dimensions of the tank. I am going to go with a 47" wide, 42" tall, 24.25" deep tank with a 36" cabnet under the tank. The tank is going to go to the current top of the cubby. I am going to raise the top on the inside of the...

Thinking about building a custom 380 gallon...

Pics as requested. What sucks is the opening is only 47" wide or I would put my 90 gallon in there. The thing that sucks worse, is the wall to the right is load bearing so I can't change it.

Thinking about building a custom 380 gallon...

I have a cubby in my house that currently has shelves in it that I have been thinking about having a custom tank built for. It will be a FOWLR tank. The good thing about this location is that there is a 18" wide x 24" deep x 96" tall closet to the right that I can put all of the pumps, filters...
