OK, thanks. I had considered the possibility that the algae was just consuming all the nutrients and that was why I was getting low values on the tests, but I wasn't sure. I guess I'll have to go get myself an RO/DI unit.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I already change out 25-30 gallons every other week and the light isn't on more than 12 hours per day. Plus, the lights couldn't cause algae growth unless there was a food source for the algae.

There are places that will ship out just one fish. It's just a matter of whether you want to pay $30 to ship your $20 fish. Your LFS might be willing to get a specific fish for you at no additional charge--which would save you the relatively expensive overnight shipping fee.

In my experience, peppermint shrimp aren't necessarily all that effective at controlling aiptasia anyway. Mine don't seem to eat it at all and, from what I've read, that's not uncommon. If they're just going to get eaten in the end anyway, I agree that you should just get some Joe's Juice...
