    Hitchhiker

I doubt they would be thinking of one that eats flatworms when they said it eats mainly sponges... Also, they had pictures, other sites had pictures also with that same name (Hypselodoris bullocki) and it is definately the same critter.

Questions about Quarantine Tanks (& hypo-salinity)

So I set up a new sump & am going to use my old one as a quarantine tank. I have a few (many!) questions regarding them. - How often do I need to do water changes on the tank? What do I need to test for? I am assuming nitrites, nitrates & ammonia. Anything else? - I read that some people...

    Hitchhiker

I am very new to all this, and for the most part probably don't know what I am talking about. But I googled "Purple and Yellow Nudibranch" because that guy is awesome & I thought I may want one. And like, the second link said this about it: "...Your purple slug is what I am calling Hypselodoris...

    Mixing Wrasses? (Possum & Fairy)

Seriously, I can't get a single reply about whether I can have these 2 fish together or not? It is a 65 gallon, the only 2 fish now are a maroon clownfish & a purple firefish.

    Mixing Wrasses? (Possum & Fairy)

Hi, I am trying to decide what the next fish to add to my tank should be. I was thinking about getting a possum wrasse. MY LFS said I could also get another reef-safe wrasse, but it should be different than the possum, they suggested a fairy wrasse. So I am thinking about getting a Possum Wrasse...

Crocea clam info (acclimation & placement)

I tried putting it on 2 smaller, flat rocks. But it would wiggle around until it knocked itself down. Now I have it on a larger, flat rock. If this doesn't work I will try putting the rock on the sand until it anchors. The flow doesn't seem to be an issue, it's mantle doesn't blow around at all.

Crocea clam info (acclimation & placement)

Trying not to move it at all! There are multiple spots in our tank I think would be great for it, but it disagrees. It has fallen twice now. Once they find a spot they like, how long does it take them to attach? Hopefully he will like where he's at now, I think it's a prime piece of realty!

Crocea clam info (acclimation & placement)

Ok, so I've searched for & read a few other threads. It seems like a lot of people just temp acclimate them. I've had mine dripping for about 1/2 hour. Maybe I'll put him in soon I guess. But it seems like most of those threads said in the rockwork, and high... I just don't want to give it...

Crocea clam info (acclimation & placement)

Not on the rockwork? Like I said, I was hoping to place him in the top third of my tank... Any other opinions?

Crocea clam info (acclimation & placement)

Hey, I just picked up a crocea clam and am about to start drip acclimating him. How long should I acclimate for? Also, where in my tank should I place him? I bought a clip on metal hallide light earlier today as well. How high in the tank should he be? (I was planning on placing him in the top...

What is up with my anemone? Please help.

I know, that is why I asked many questions before even thinking about getting another anemone, and even then, checking for approval. Perfect Dark is now my tank-mentor. I hope I don't become a nuisance! My LFS sold me antibiotics for my tank when I told them my maroon clown suddenly has chunks...

What is up with my anemone? Please help.

Thank you so much for your advice. I was at a different LFS last night & they were selling a "bubble" anemone that was beige-ish brown with purple tips. He checked & made sure it was a sebae. I don't know what he meant by "bubble" because I don't think it looked like any other bubble tip I've...

Help! I think something is attacking my fish.

Yeah, I did not do the antibiotics. There is no point obviously if it was something attacking the fish. I do not CURRENTLY have a QT. When I set up my new sump/refugium this weekend I will convert the tank that is currently my sump into a QT.

Help! I think something is attacking my fish.

Ok, the red crab is still in the sump. I did not notice any new chunks missing from the clown's fins today. The firefish is still unharmed. Perhaps that crab is the culprit... Hopefully no more injuries occur tonight.

    BLACK jellybeans

They're fine. Aren't they like, black licorice? The NASTY ones are the buttered popcorn flavor. Those are not good.

Help! I think something is attacking my fish.

Well, keep in mind that he didn't have my pretty pretty pictures to look at, just my description of what was going on. At this point, I did put the SeaChem PhosGuard product in a filter bag in my sump. My phosphates were high when I tested them a few days ago. But I guess I will go ahead & hold...

Help! I think something is attacking my fish.

Here are more pictures of the crabby, as promised. In the second one you can see his little claws better. There is also a Sacajawea dollar in there for size reference.
