check the instructions or the thermometer there might be a min water level line. If you done that already, then im not sure, but better to play it safe and submerge the coils...imo.
hmmm...why didn't i try this in the first place. I connected the hose to the skimmer directly to the air pump and it's actually flowing water into now. so i need to get a new gang valve that has better air flow adjustments. thanks
I have a berlin air lift 60 with a tetra whisper 10-30 gal air pump for my 29 gal tank. there is no foam goin into the collection cup. it only foams up to about 1/4 inch past water level. Do i need to push more air? Are the bubbles to small? Big?
maybe inaccurate test kits, but don't think so. im looking into buying some more of a higher quality. right now i have a an instand ocean hydrometer, should i consider a refractometer?

about 30 lbs. LS, penguin 150 biowheel powerfilter, berlin airlift 60 skimmer, i used instant ocean reef crystals, my ph was low so i added ph increaser. oh, and last weekend i switched to the ls i ended up taking most of the water out.
I have a 29 gal. and Aquarium Pharm. saltwater master liquid test kit. But i think ill go with your recommendation and get the salifert. which test should i get...ammonia, rate, rite, pH anything else. thanks for you advice guys.
