    The problem with those cheaper lights is the halides, power compacts, and moonlights all run off of one single plug..So you don't have the option of giving your tank the dusk to dawn effect.     you can try but the chances that you could catch him before he sucked back in are slim, plus if you dont get all of it then another one will grow back in its place.

    i would say so but start with a mushroom or zoanthid becasue they are harty and need little care
