    New to Reef

The first problem I see is your light, no three lights won't be enough you'll need at least five blubs that are the length of the tank and of high output(two atinic and three ethier 10,000 or 20,000k lights)and the other problem could be your disstled water.I used disstled water for a long time...

    No Clowning

I would have two say no,over my fifty five I run four 48inch 40watt bulbs over my anenome tank(two atinic and two 20,000k)you should have at least 3-4 watts per gallon of water to be safe. And I have found that most of the host anenomes available like to bury in the substrat and attach to a rock...

    darn hermit crab!!!

    polyps not opening fully

I had the same problem and what I did was move them around the tank untill they were happy. So it was either to much light or not enough current becuase they are now mid level and in mid current.

    copepods

I don't quite understand your Q but if you have live rock and you don't have a manderine goby or other fish that feeds off the rock you probly already have them.Otherwise buy some live rock there should be plenty on it to get a population started as long as your fish don't eat them.

    dead feather dusters

If your sure they are dead by all means remove them.leaving them could start a algae bloom. But make sure there dead I've had them loose there feathers and thought the same thing then felt them and they moved a month later they regrew there feathers.

    Stock levels and combos

Well if your going with a dwarf lion I'd go with a large tomato clown or sebea something bigger than it's mouth alsoyour going to need at least 3-4 watts a gal of light for the host anenome to survive and puffers and box fish can be a gamble when mixing with enverts plus there ich factorys...
