how long should i leave a fish in a furacyn bath?

It's a 125 acrylic. I live in the southwest part of Chicago. The tank has been up for years with the same fish including, foxface, blue face angel, oriental sweetlips, naso tang, three clowns, and a flamehawk.

Gills do seem a little swollen, but he's not being picked on. Just noticed that I have a small trace of nitrite, which concerns me a bit, seeing that I always do proper water changes. The fish still eats quite aggressively though.
