    Dragonet food?

Fish only tanks can sustain a Dragonet if it's well established and seeded with pods. If it's not already seeded then dropping food in the tank for it is going to be really tough, there's too much competition for food floating in the water or sitting on the sand. I have a green dragonet in a...

    Hitchhikers - yuk

I really think it's a gorilla crab. I wouldn't leave it in there just because it's small. I mean, when should you remove it? AFTER it has killed your $50 fish? If you google "removing gorilla crab from tank" you'll find lots of options. However, what I likely would try to do first is isolate...

    Hitchhikers - yuk

I'm going to take a stab and say gorilla crab or something similar and related. Not coral safe... You'll want to get rid of that little bugger.

I know this thread is a bit older, but just to throw another brand name out there. I have been using Hagen Master Kit for years and I have not had any issues with it.

    New Hobbyist: 20 Gallon?

+1 for a BioCube. Everything is built in, don't have to worry about filtration purchases. Just remove bio balls and add live rock rubble. I ran a cube for YEARS. I ended up killing everything because of a wild temperature fluctuation during a cold snap and my heater was not working. Small body...

    Nature's Ocean Aragonite?

I've found what appears to be an amazing deal on Nature's Ocean Aragonite sand. 20 lbs for $11...!??! Anyone have any experience with this stuff? I don't see anything about silicate levels on the packaging.

    QT / Temporary Housing Duration?

You're correct, the pods are a potential risk. However I think I have that covered. The tank I'm seeding from has literally been breed pods for a decade, it's absolutely INFESTED with the things, and that's a good thing. Only the Mandarin has been eating them, no other "pod predators" so to...

    QT / Temporary Housing Duration?

I understand the concept of QT and how long you should keep a fish in a QT before introducing it to the DT. This question is a little different... I'm moving a large tank in about a month and I'll be setting up a temporary tank so that I can move the fish about a week prior to the big move. I'll...

my domino damsels fine's look as their being nippped at

You may have already heard this, but Damsels are hardy, easy to keep fish for beginners but unfortunately end up being tossed out of a tank once the tank turns into a real hobby. I don't agree with putting them in beginner tanks for this very reason. I have never owned a more aggressive fish.
