Well, after a little over a week of strangeness out of my flowerpot, it's back to it's normal, fully extended self. I have no explanation for its weirdness, I didn't do anything differently. But, I'm so glad to have it back to normal. It must have been mad about the new powerhead.

I hope that's not the case :( I feed them 3 times a week, and my water has been testing just fine, and none of the fish ever go anywhere near it. Temp has been normal too, I keep it right around 80.

For the last week or so, my flower pot coral has only been opening up part way, or closing before lights out, and just acting a little odd compared to its normal self. I'm a little worried about it. Any ideas as to why it's being funny?

Thanks. I don't really have a lot of live rock as it is, so I'm not really comfortable taking a piece out only to throw it away after using it in the QT. I'm just concerned, as I have read about some mandarins being quite picky. It would be my luck to get one that refused to eat anything but...

So, I would like to get a mandarin dragnet, but since they eat copepods and amphipods pretty much exclusively, how do I quarantine it? Do I add a container of "reefpods" to the qt? Thanks!

A local lfs sold me a green star polyp as an "ani-moan". But, living in a small town, there's not really any better option if I need something and can't wait for shipping. It's sad when a newbie to the hobby knows more than the people working at the store.
