Well I lost all of my fish. I still think that it was velvet. I have a few questions .... 1. I had the angel for about 2 or 3 weeks could it have had it when I bought it...and if not how did it get it? 2. There are only shrimp, crabs, and snails in my tank. Do I leave it alone and w/out a...

Thanks for the help. My two clowns are covered now. The angel is scratching but the others are not. I am about to get some medicine. I think it is velvet but I am not positive.

Hmmm...it looks more powdery than like salt. Everything here is closed until the morning. I hope it makes it until then.

How do I tell the difference? My angel has small white spots that look like little tiny bubbles all over him. None of the other fish are infected. Thank you!

    singapore angel

Thanks for all input! I have had my tank up for about 6 mos. It cycled quickly and the levels have been perfect since the third week. I have two percula clowns, one damsel and about 15-20 lbs LR. I have read and been told a 55 was big enough for a dwarf angel but I am setting up a 200 gallon...

    singapore angel

I purchased a Singapore Angel a week ago. It hides behing the rock all day long. I am wondering if it will soon start being a bit more social as it becomes more accustomed to its new home or is this just its personality? When no one is near the tank it will swim out for a second or two then...

    new tank cycling

I am using an Aquarium Pharmaceuticals brand saltwater test kit. (It has the little vials you fill w/ h20 and drop the solution in). I wish I had just used the raw shrimp deal I've seen posted here several times but I already had the damsels after I read about that.

    new tank cycling

I have a 55 gallon tank with 3 damsels. It is on the 30th day cycling. I didn't test my water until after the 2nd week and have monitored the ammonia and nitrites twice a week since then with no change. Shouldn't the ammonia have started to go up by now? I put TLC in the 2nd day after I set...

    sump return pump question

I'm new to the hobby and am constructing my own sump using hardware that I have on hand. The return pump will be a Little Giant. The particular model I can't recall. My question is this... Should I install some sort of float switch to power on the pump when the water level in the sump reaches a...
