Here's my 20H FOWLR.

Holy crud. I actually feel alright about my tank now. lol :cheer: Except for my hermit crab who only has 2 legs and 1 claw right now. Here's mine (up since June 2006)

i caught my turbo snail about to go into the big part of my protein skimmer where the water flows back into the tank (I have a Prizm HOB).

omg. that could have been horribly disasterous!!!! good thing she was home!!!!

I figured my issue out.. my hermit crab molted EVERYTHING (and lost a few appendages in the process...) completely. Pretty nasty. I think that's what was causing the jelly film for me, some sort of break down of the claws..I've had them molt before, but it was just shell left at the bottom of...

I also have a Prizm.. def. gonna get a different skimmer. AND, i have the same film on my water's surface right now. Fish/inverts all look good to me. Mine just kinda came over night...dunno how it happened...is that how yours happened??? -Scott

hmmmm... before i could even get a picture posted out here of what they look like, they've dissappeared!!!! that makes me think they were just some sort of pod... if they pop up again, i'll try to get some pics!!! thanks for all of the responses!! -Scott

Thanks for the responses... I'm still kinda worried about it... it's almost like there's and infestation of them... lol.. I'll try to take some good pictures tonight and I'll post them.

Anybody have any pictures of mantis shrimp when they are really really small/young? I'm afraid I have about 3-4 tiny ones running around my tank right now (they are no more than a 1/2 inch big, and all white)... just need to verify... TIA! -Scott

Well, the bio wheel has just stopped spinning. I've cleaned it thinking there was salt not making it move, etc. I didn't rinse the wheel's filter media itself (I know that's where all the good bacteria is...), but the little spindle ends and the stand it rests on. There's plenty of water flow...

Is it ok to replace the biowheel filter with a protein skimmer or do I need both? TIA! -Scott
