    Moving to a larger tank

Well i started moving the live rock last night and my blue head wrasse was stowed away and showed up in the other tank. He is doing fine swimming around checking things out. I haven't had time to do any test but i will test before i start moving any more fish.

    Moving to a larger tank

I currently have a 125 and a 240 up and running. Right now everything is in my 125 gal. I was wondering can i just move everything into the larger tank like the live rock without having some sort of ammonia spike? The live rock has been in the 125 for over a year so i don't think it would...

    water question

I am in the process of putting a little water in my 240 gallon. I have 60 gallons in it so far and now i am waiting to get a little money for sand and live rock. The question is; is the water ok just sitting there or do i need to have a powerhead circulating the water around a little bit?

Well i have pretty much decided on buying a retro metal halide setup instead of the t-5 but i am confused on what light bulbs i will need. I am going to get the icecap retro-fit kit. I am thinking of buying two 400 watt setup unless someone tells me different. You can get the 400 watt setup...

What lights on a $600 budget?

Well i am in the process of setting up a 240 gal tank. It is 8 ft long and i am stuck on which lights i should get. I only have around $600 to spend on lights right now so i need some help deciding on what would be best for the money. One choice would be buying 3 clamp on metal halide lights...

    Couple of Questions

I am about to start up a 240 gallon and this will be my first time using a sump. I have an established 125 gal that has been up and running for almost 2 years. The 240 i have has the overflow dead center of the tank for viewing on both sides. It has two holes in the bottom of the overflow. I...

    Sump Big Enough??

Well i have either a 220 gal or 240 gal (not really sure) oceanic tank i am working on getting started right now. I have a 125 gallon fowlr now that has been up and running for about a year and half with no problems but this will be my first tank with a sump. I am planning on running 2 closed...

    Converting Oceanic to Regular Tank?

I recently purchased a 240 gallon oceanic tank off craigslist for a really good deal and i really don't have the money to buy all the pumps and other equipment for underneath the tank. So i was wondering if any of you have just plugged the holes in the bottom and used it like a regular tank...

Niger Went on a Killing Spree

I have had him for about 8 months. He is about 5 inches long and has gotten along with all my tank mates until yesterday. He killed both my blue-green chromis and injured my baby clown pretty badly. I doubt he is gonna make it. I thought that the niger was one of the more peaceful triggers...

    Live Rock Dead?

I recently bought a 240 gallon from a guy along with all his equipment. He also gave me about 150 lbs of tonga branch live rock with a ton of purple coraline which had been out of tank for several days. At least 3 to 4 days. (I don't think he had his tank going just the rock sitting in water in...

    Lighting for curing live rock

I have had my 125 going for about a year now and I am wanting to add more live rock to the tank. I currently have about 50 lbs curing in a trash can and was wondering how long I can leave my lights on for? Will leaving them on a longer time help my rock cure quicker? My ammonia levels are off...
