yeah i had all that rust color alge over my LR a few days into cycle. it was all cleaned after i got my snails and hermits. good luck!

yeah, im getting about 7 watts per gallon (power-compacs), i heard a biological filter is not needed for corals becasue the LR takes its place. and hows a maxijet 900 - 250 gallon turnover for my 25 gal reef?

yeah dude base rock come in a lot of diffrent textures and shapes not all is "very dense, very heavy, non-porous and sold dry". and theres no way it would turn live in 6 months. maby a year.

get a snail and hermit per 4 gallons

most people build up a foundation with base rock then lay a few pieces of live on top,it save a lot of money this way,but it takes a long time for the base to turn into live tho. good luck!
