    Reef Tank lights

About the watts per gallon "rule", I think he was trying to say that its more of a "guideline" than an absolute rule. But, since the guideline is pretty vague (5-10 watts per gallon), and most people have pretty similarly shaped tanks, I dont think you could really go wrong as long as you err...

Yep, that's what I've been using.. Kent's Turbo Calcium, SuperBuffer DKH, Turbo Stronium, and the Mag I get from epsom salts... Squidd, when using all of these additives together, do you mix them all at full strength or do you have to compensate? (sorry if this is a noob-ish question) :notsure:

New tank Live rock to late?

The problem with adding LR to a tank that already has fish is the tank will begin to "cycle" (ammonia, nitrites, nitrates will rise to very high levels) once you feed your fish. To avoid this most people add the LR and begin "feeding" their fish before the fish are in the tank, allowing about a...

    Protein Skimmers on an Eclipse

Sorry, but on a 29 gallon eclipse, that skimmer looks like crap. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of having the all-in-one eclipse I think this whole thread defeats the purpose of an "all-in-one" eclipse, but thats just my opinion too  I think that huge DIY skimmer looks cool...

Weekend project is about done. need to choose a finish

I think the stain would attract more attention to the whole package which is good IMO. I also like more "natural" looking stands because tanks are so natural (you know..fish, corals and stuff)...so I think they go well together (by natural I mean that you can see the wood grain, etc.) You can...
