    Lion Only Tank

I'm thinking about starting a lion only tank. Just one lion. Nothing else. What's the minimum size tank you'd suggest?

    Aquarium Background

I've heard that actually painting the back with spray paint (oustside of course) works best. As far as the actual color name I'm not sure. Your LFS should have a bunch of samples.

    Bonus Room Aquartium: Too Heavy?

One thing the LFS did say was that I should look at running the aquarium perpendicular to the support beams. Makes since.

    Bonus Room Aquartium: Too Heavy?

I've got a bonus room above the garage and am in the process of making it the family room. My question is would a 150 gal XH reef tank be too heavy for the floor. I talked to the guy at the LFS and he said no. How much do you think it'll weigh with stand?

Plans for a canopy and stand

Hey Sean. We're building in the new Heritage area. Just east of 1A. I like the guys a lot at Fish World but there prices seem pretty high to me. BTW, my wife's grandparents live in Roanoke. We're headed there for Thanksgiving.

    Bulding a stand and hood

Most of the designs I've seen use a "box" design. So have wood alll around. Hard to explain. One thing is I want to make it a little taller than normal stands. I plan on using hardwood for the exterior and pine for the support frame. See any problems in this?

Plans for a canopy and stand

Yeah Crabtree. I've only been here since February so I'm still trying to get to know the area. I'm looking at either a 90 or a 125 gal reef. The size will depend on how much room I'll have in the den. My wife and I are building out in Wake Forest so we're going to have to wait and see where...

    120 or 90 Gal Reef???

Definitely reef so the lighting is going to be the biggy. I haven't had a salt tank in about 10 years. It's amazing how much things have changed. My last was a fish only.

    120 or 90 Gal Reef???

LOL I stans corrected. OK here's the dimenions of the tanks. Turns out its a 125 not 120. the 125 gal is 72x18x22 and the 90 gal is 48x18x24. So the 90 is a little deeper which is where I guess the lighting diff comes into play. I've also read that the longer tanks give more room for the fish to...

    120 or 90 Gal Reef???

The 120 gal I was looking at was 72" long. The 90 gal was around 42" I think. The 90 was more box shaped while the 120 was more like a long rectangle. Make since?

    120 or 90 Gal Reef???

Hey guys! I finally got to the point where I could take some measurements at the house I'm building and found that I'd have enough room to put in a 120 gal. I originally had intended on a 90 gal. Which one is better for a reef? I've heard that since the 120 is longer and has more surface area...
