    Tangs, tangs, tangs. HELP!

Yes, a lfs i go to does this. I would never personally do it, but your already mixing the water. My guess tho is there is some type of pathogen in your tanks. Tangs due to very little slime coat are usually the first effected

    Tangs, tangs, tangs. HELP!

Agree w the acclimation issue. Bc your limited, cut the bags open and let them float. This is after you temp acclimate. Cutting them will allow the water to mix more slowly then just dumping. The corporate BS is just the reason i won't buy from chain stores.

Your screwed!!!!! Lol jk. At near freezing it was pretty much dead rock. The heating shouldn't have had much effect bc everything should have been dead from the cold. Now basically your going to cure it, leave it in your tub. 80 is fine. Let the powerhead do its thing. I would only change...

    Seed Bacteria

2 things. 1st agree w above the sand and rock will hold almost all your bacteria. Get a few lbs of cured live rock and let it do the work. 2nd this being a new sw tank, canister filters are not the best. If your willing to do weekly cleanings of it fine, otherwise there a nitrate trap.

    New tank... need help!

Bigger the change less often, or more frequent smaller ones. For a 400gal tank i would do either 30-40 weekly or 80-100 biweekly depending on bioload
