    Water level adjustment

In my tank with the type of overflow I have the water level is higher when the return flow is higher. I get about a half inch difference between high and low flow. My plumbing is through the bottom of the tank not the back. I believe iidylii’s set up is similar corner over flow to mine.

    1 clown 2 anenomes

Probably better to stick with one. The one you have is likely a female. If you introduce another there will be fights.

    Water level adjustment

With a sump it also has to do with the flow rate. Adjust your return flow so the water level is where you want it. Increase flow for higher and decrease for lower. Then adjust your sump water level.

    Fluval Evo 13.5 stock

The goby shrimp pair would do great. No clowns. 13 gal is very small. With the goby and shrimp you will be at capacity.

    compatibility and substrate question

I agree with Jay. I’d nix other fish with the lion not so much because of the lion but the tank size and shape and the bioload contributed by the lion. Unfortunately the lion you need large clowns which won’t do well in a 29 gal biocube. There just isn’t enough territory.

    Anemone

What kind of lighting do you have. The fact that it is eating is a good sign. Anemones should not be pure white.

    Clown fish getting aggressive

The tank is small so you may have long term issues with bullying. As for the mandarin, your tank is way too small to support a mandarin.

How to choose a powder blue tang

Hypo salinity needs to be at 1.009 for the entire QT period. Many stores keep salinity on the low side 1.018 -1.021. That is not enough to kill ich it has to be at 1.009. I use an ATO when I run a hypo QT. It is much easier on the fish than copper. Be sure to drop salinity slowly and raise...

How to choose a powder blue tang

With a powder blue tang I’d treat with hyposalinity and assume it has ich. I’d also QT for longer than 3 weeks min 4. They are more susceptible to ich than others and if it is in a system with low levels of copper or low salinity it can mask the problem.

    “White” BTA won’t grow.

If the anemone is white it is bleached and likely slowly dying. The fact that it won’t feed is another bad sign. This usually is a result of not enough light. What kind of lighting do you have on your tank?

Inverts and Corals Keep dying...... Any Ideas???

Magnesium is important for good coralline growth you also need alkalinity at the correct level. It also grows better with low phosphates.

    Coming back to Saltwater

I am not a fan of adding macro algae prior to fully cycling the tank. Because, as Bob stated, it consumes ammonia preferentially it significantly slows the colonization of the bacteria that get rid of it. I am a big fan of macro algae but I wouldn’t add it until the bacteria population is...

    Algae

Green algae is too much nutrients, phosphate and nitrate. Light may be contributing but less likely.
