I have a 29 gal skimmerless with a little LR and shrooms and a couple damsels. I have about a half inch of crushed coral. I'm going to replace most of it w/ arragonite, but how much should i use??

yeah dude, I just started this SW thing about 8-10 months ago. Look at my name. I did the wrong thing a lot before I did the right thing once. I'd say GET A DAMSEL, maybe 2, take your shrooms back, they WILL die. Keep the LR if you have it, and take back everything else alive in your tank. Also...

I have some new polyps trying to grow right next to a green shroom. The shroom is starting to cover the polyps, but I want them to grow. I moved the rock over so shroom isn't getting much light. I was hoping he was gonna move but no luck yet. IS it going to move? What should I do? TIA

Can you cut up Ricordias like you can regular shrooms? Can you just move them out of the light and make them move like others? I'm getting another 3 huge blue ricordias today, and I want to experiment. If I CAN cut them or make them move like other shrooms, then how long should I take?

Ok, the water has gotten a little clearer, and the brown diatoms have stopped. It has been a little over a month now since I started the thing. How will I know it is completely cycled? :confused:

I'm not sure if they are called toadfish or frogfish, but they are butt-ugly and agressive as hell. I asked the dude at the LFS about it. He said he wasn't sure if the fish would damage corals..

I'm getting another light soon, but I would like to know what will grow, or at least stay alive under 2 wpg for now? I know ricordias and some polyps will survive under low light, but i need a list.
