    It depends on what you mean by wave maker. Are you talking about adding another powerhead or are you talking about a pump controller. You add the poly filter to your mechanical filtration

    I just drilled a small diameter hole in each of my overflows just below the water line of my loc lines, hobbyist want to make sure they drill the holes at 180 degrees so at start up you don’t splash water on your lights

    IMO anyone with in tank overflow boxes should have syphon brake holes drilled into their return lines

    We are talking about a 29g tank. And you changed 80% of 29G. Did you test the water before you introduced it into your tank? Are you carrying out the test procedure exactly as called for?

    At this point I would do a 15 g water change test the water before introducing it into your tank. Test one hour after introduction. Something just does not sound right
