Rubberband the bag of GAC to the front of the powerhead. Crude but effective. Using the skimmer should have worked. Perhaps the fish are just now showing the damage from the initial exposure.

I see your last sentence now, apologies. You need to find a way to force the water through some GAC (Granular Activated Carbon). This is standard for any chemical contamination. A canister filter is ideal but you can get by with placing GAC in a filter sock and use a powerhead to force water...

    Cleaning sand question...

After soaking & rinsing in freshwater the only thing left could be bacteria spores. Those are not going to harm a Seahorse tank so nothing to worry about. If you rinsed correctly there won't be enough dead organic material to cycle. I'll suggest my ghost feeding method as usual. There will...

    Pinnatus Batfish

They turn more grey & silver. I agree they should only be housed in very large tanks. Not a good choice for captivity in my opinion.

How do you avoid toxic live sand on a physical move?

That would have been fine. The issue is Carbon dioxide. Without a constant flow of oxygenated water over the sand the bacteria will choke on their CO2 and die which pollutes the sand. For future reference, 90% of the sand bed life is in the top 1/2" of sand. My suggestion would have been to...

How do you avoid toxic live sand on a physical move?

It can be cleaned if you have the time. For me it wouldn't be worth the time. If you clean a gallon of sand at a time using clean fresh water until it runs clear it will be clean enough. ie. 1 gallon of sand in a bucket and use a garden hose to stir it around until the water is clear. A...

Can some one indentify some things for me?

#2 is definitely not bad. It's not invasive and doesn't harm other organisms. #3 is up for debate. I'll say I would remove it as Majano can multiply rapidly when food is available and they will harm corals that invade their space.

How do you avoid toxic live sand on a physical move?

If it has been sitting in a bucket since Saturday I would suggest you not use any of it.

Find someone with mini-brittle stars, they are worth their weight in gold for cleaning up uneaten food. Cerith & Nassarius (not the mud snails) are beneficial as well.

    I need some help.

Another thought... Make saltwater using carbonated water (club soda). Dip the rocks in it and most of the animals occupying the rock should abandon it. Don't do it with anything delicate because the PH is really low but it shouldn't harm mushrooms or other hardy corals.

    I need some help.

Some seafood wrapped in pantyhose works well as a trap. In most tanks the type of Bristleworm Flower has is extremely beneficial. Unfortunately they are no Seahorse safe as she has said. Flower, besides Nassarius, do you have other cleaners to take care of uneaten food?
