Now remember we are talking about the dimensions of a 10g tank We are looking at a time frame to detect if anything is going on with our fish and the very short time the fish are exposed to our view looking through the side makes that observation very limited Simple test go to your DT at look...

    Leather coral resurrection

That is a very interesting question. The waxing is in fact not a regenerative action but more to rid the surface of accumulated algae and waste. So if you have good flow over your leather you should see the waxing happen less frequent. In my opinion it’s a personal choice as to whether to...

    Leather coral resurrection

For the benefit of our newer reef keepers I will post a picture documentary on the waxing and rebirth of my leather coral. This is very large and rust red color leather. It as all leather corals go through a period where they wax over and seem to shrink and change color. After a while like magic...

It would make a great tank to grow frags and even if you do not have a reef tank you can sell them or you could use it to grow higher forms of algae for nitrate and phosphate harvesting

    Too much water flow?

Yes all corals have tentacles of varying length, corals such as hammer and frog spawn can develop long sweeping tentacles when placed in areas of strong water movement. Below is a pic I took some time ago of a stinging sweeper in my tank

    Water Change

Flower this is actually not true. Once we have the bacteria colonized it expands very quickly to an increase in bio load. It does not take weeks for it to be able to handle a reasonable increase. Now of course a hobbyist can in fact tax his newly formed bio filtration with the addition of new...
