I feed julian sprungs green and purple. Also san fran bay sea weed salad. I prefer the sprungs when I can get it. Pellets in my experience are not preferred. My tangs won't eat them.

The hlle could be a contributing factor. Tangs need alot of alage, plus good nutrition. I feed my tangs alage sheets almost daily. They also do eat meaty foods w my other fish, but lots of alage
