    IMO the least of your problems would be how do you start the syphon. Save yourself a lot of trouble if you want to go with two tanks drill them both and connect with PVC

    Leave the filter block in your sump, leave the bio-balls forget the LR chips go with the biggest refuge you can and if you are going to interconnect the sump to the refuge you can go with one return pump

    I would do the 100 % water change BUT I would temp acclimate the corals AND drip acclimate the fish to the new water

    Take them out wait for the nitrites to reach Zero for the water change then add a CUC and ghost feed until you have QT your first fish and are ready to add it to your DT
