    Hi. Always been a lps girl but recently bought a few pieces if sps. I know they need high flow & light low nutrients. Which is my biggest struggle. My lps need some goodies lps don't. It really is a juggling act.

    P.s. Always add seachem plus when lights down it's when corals are most actively feeding. Yes amino acids etc. (reef not reed) typo sorry.

    They pretty much take care if themselves. Steady parameters, lowish phos & nitrates and seachem reef plus twice a week for polyp extension & color. !

    I agree slow slow. Research research research. I find we all impulse buy, make mistakes. Just remember it's only a stupid mistake if you don't Lear from it.

    Ok. If fish are dying I would suggest your ammonia is a problem. Api test kits are not great test kit and are renowned for in accuracy. I would get some seachem prime ( makes ammonia nitrite. & nitrates harmless) keep up the water changes. & invest in some more accurate test kits. Eg. Sailifert...

    Sorry new to this forum, what does rest ÏDK"mean. I know the api is color coded but can you give me numbers please,,, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate ? EG is ammonia 0 or 5 is nitrate 5 or 25 etc, would be really helpful....thanks.

    Yes, corals are very expensive here, for instance that red lobo I showed is approx $120 to buy, seems anything with color (other than brown and green) is expensive. bought a clam about 6cm long and because it had blue mantel was $220.00. I don't know what your prices are like but I consider ours...

    People often say all test are good, but it certainly helps if we have those number you are mentioning are "good" People have a different interpretations of good. In particular what are ammonia, nitrite and nitrate readings and of course Salinity. These are the numbers we need to help diagnose...
