    Please post full tank shots!

I have never used live sand, but would think it would help the cycle due to presence of beneficial bacteria already there. The longer you wait to bring the seahorses home after the cycle, the better, in any case. Not enough can be stressed about the benefit of stable, established water. Will...

    Please post full tank shots!

You might call this a direct contrast to TeresaQ's beautiful, colorful tank. I always enjoyed this rockwork, though. So did the horses! No horses for about a year now...but almost ready to dive back in.

    wrasses.

IMHO, you need to look at body size, shape, coloring and the feeding/resting habits of each fish to help with compatibility. Avoid crowding the tank with too many sand dwelling/feeding fish, and so forth. One fish won't look at another and recognize it as another wrasse and fight it for that...

    Kuda Behavior question

They can be finicky and it's always a good rule of thumb to see the seahorse eat frozen food before you believe they will. 2 weeks is a relatively short time in retraining a seahorse to frozen from live food. In my opinion, it would be a fine idea to order some copepods to be sure the seahorse...

    Seahorse Disease And Treatment

Hmm. I don't agree that seahorses are fragile. I do agree that water cleanliness is the only way to keep any enclosed aquatic system healthy. Seahorses can deal with a wide variety of water conditions (NOT dirty, though). In natural environments, the transition from one SG range, say 1.021 to...

He's very handsome! As for Navajo's finiky eating, my first guess is that you have a good enough pod population that she may just not be that hungry nor interested in mysis. They both look great.

OK, who has had some of these and how do you keep them from becoming vegetables in a posetive way? We already had one teenager, but she was exceptional and had ambition that was inspiring. She may have been switched at birth. This new teenager is developing the blase', bored, LAZY attitude that...

An additional thought.. These photos are Sophia (named for Ms. Loren). She was a she, though I was asked to confirm that fairly often due to her lack of "ventral shelf". I purchased her as an adult, and was never really sure of her species, though I suspect erectus or even possibly ingen, she...

I really didn't want to speculate, but I'm pretty sure there is a chance Apache is a male. A seahorse's sexual maturity depends on the pouch development, from what I have read....big help, yeah? Apache does not look well developed which is another reason I hesitated to say what I was thinking...
