that IMO would not be a good idea. It may shock your corals and cause a alage bloom. If you going to change them out i would spread it out over period of time.

how old is your tank? jack your CA levels up to 450 and keep you alk up and coraline alage should start to take over.

I couldn't give you a good answer on that cause i don't deal with MH bulbs only t-5 and i just starting working on changing mine out and i got my fixture last November. That was mostly because my corals where lossing some of there color. BUT at lot of people will disagree with me on this but...

how new or old are your light bulbs? If i were you i wont worry about the xenia they will grow crazy in yout tank and you wish you never had gotten them
