I just bought 2 175W Retro Fit MH's but I forgot to ask how to attach them to the hood. They get SO hot I'd imagine I'll need some barrier between the metal pieces and the wooden top right? What would I use for that and how would I go about attaching it to a hood? I don't see any [hr]...

What about toothpicking it to the rock? Eeew that sounds mean but last time I tried the methods listed above it died, was a Kenya Tree.

I had a LARGE mushroom head pop off of my shroom rock and it's free floating around the tank. I'd really like it to not attach to anything but that same shroom rock, just maybe away from the cluster of others. Can I superglue it? There's no stem, it's just the flower looking part.

I had that SAME problem! I got rid of it by switching my RO water to RODI and putting in some phosban. After adding the phosban my diatoms were gone in under 24 hours.
