    Just starting-any suggestions?

I started with a 29 gallon and all is going well with it now. (still a newbie though) We had ups and some downs...mostly because we rushed a little too fast. People will tell you to take it SLOW and my suggestion is to definitely follow that advice. If you rush things, you will spend more money...

    tiny white circles

I have little white raised circles on the glass of my tank but not on the rock...and I have been told that it is spiropidae (sp??) and it is a good thing to have...but I don't know if that is the same thing. These look like tiny spiral worms...maybe that is what you have... flip:jumping:

    Keeping a journal

I have two tanks and have seperate journals for each of them. I have a small 6 ring binder with 5 sections so I log water changes, water tests, livestock addition, equipment maintenance and interesting behaviours. I can't think of anything else I should be keeping track of. Ive only been at this...

    Feather Duster

My tank has been set up since Feb 20th and I probably have discovered at least 15 feather dusters. But then again...I have about 250 lbs of LR. Saltwater is so much FUN! flip:jumping:

Advise to newbies from a newbie

[Q "If it works for YOU, then stick with it" T [/B] I couldn't agree more! I am still learning and will continue to learn for a long time but I plan on sticking with whatever works for me and when it stops working...then it will be time to try something else. flip:jumping:

    Blenny question

I have a 120 gallon with a bi color blenny....can I put a lawnmower blenny in with it as well? Also, what is another name for a lawnmower blenny...is it a sailfin blenny? This site calls it also and algae blenny but I can't find it in my books. Thanks flip:jumping:

    peppermint shrimp dying slowly

I had 5 peppermint shrimp in my 120 gallon but lately can only ever see a maximum of 4 at a time so I think we may have lost one. It's hard to tell, we have 250 lbs of LR so lots of hiding places. I haven't tested for iodine or calcium yet either so if you don't mind, I'll piggyback your post...

    Feather dusters?

Hopefully I will have the same kind of luck that you did. If they were big enough to capture with my camera I would post a pic of them....maybe when they get bigger I will be able to. (by then I should have figured out how to make my pic small enought to post on here) flip :jumping:

    Feather dusters?

I think I have feather dusters on my live rock. I did a search on this site and it sounds like that's what they are. I have seen feather dusters in pics and at the lfs but these are tiny white worm like things (that I thought were fossils) with a feather like head that pulls back in when a fish...

    Skimmer questions again

That can't be a good thing. I will remember that when making my selection. I just want to be sure before spending that amount of money that I am getting the best one for my tank. flip:jumping:

    Skimmer questions again

I don't have a sump...and am not planning on getting one in the near future...I have much more research to do on how they work. I think the Aqua C Remora is taking a strong lead. Anyone else? flip:jumping:

    just a question

I don't know much about it...but since you hadn't gotten a response I decided to see if I could find an answer and on this website, they refer to the snowflake eel as an easy to care for peaceful fish but it is not reef safe. Check it out under the fish link. hope this helps flip:jumping:
