    Vega Lighting Schedule

I've been testing out the Lunar Mode. I have royal blue set at 5% as AI suggested but so far they have only actually been up to 2%. From what I understand they will only be at 5% for a couple of days at the most. I'm hoping that AI will update the Lunar Mode to allow for a lower initial...

New 300 gallon In-Wall tank build

So not a lot going on with the tank. I did get a couple of small clowns a couple weeks ago but everything else is on hold for a little while longer...... Either my 16 year old or my 4 year old let the garage door down on the back of the van.....(older garage door without the sensors) cracked the...

    Vega Lighting Schedule

I have very simple settings but I have also noticed algae growth that I never had with metal halides. I still don't have a light over the frag tank and I just have the 6500k bulb in the fuge and neither have algae like in the display. Looked like diatoms at first but now looks like brown hair...

110 gal Mixed Reef Build. 180 gal System

Your tank is progressing nicely and that stand looks great. I have pics of your aquascaping saved in a file with others so that when I do get more rock I can steal some of your ideas

New 300 gallon In-Wall tank build

I got the new AquaIlumination Director in the mail today. I will get it online sometime this evening and start the whole Beta Testing thing. I've been keeping up with a thread over on the big site.... Should be interesting, apparently there are a lot of bugs to work out.

New 300 gallon In-Wall tank build

Reply from Marco rocks.... I think I will go with 150# to start and mostly large pieces. I'm going to have to hold off on ordering until I get some of the rock in the tank sold. I'm really close the budget I set for myself and I haven't even bought any fish yet. So I'm going to put the rock on...

New 300 gallon In-Wall tank build

So after looking at many of the tanks on here and other forums.... then looking at my tank, as much as the scape is growing on me it is no where close to what I envisioned when I decided to upgrade. So I will be taking all of the rock out of this tank and selling most of it. I really want to go...

New 300 gallon In-Wall tank build

Look into the Reefbreeder LED units for the frag tank.  They are about half the money of the AI units and put out pretty good numbers.  They have the value fixtures that are not controllable and the Photon series that can be fully controlled.   I think the value fixture might fit my needs...

New 300 gallon In-Wall tank build

I've moved all of my corals out of the temporary tanks into the frag tank and a few into my display. Most are softies zoanthids , mushrooms, a couple leathers and a crapload of candy cane that I plan on selling off. I had the hard corals in the smaller of the two tanks, they were both plumed...

New 300 gallon In-Wall tank build

I got the frag tank plumed into the system yesterday so I did a power outage test this morning. I have just about 1 1/2 inches to spare. I knew it was going to be close but not that close. I kept the return pump off for about an hour just to make sure everything drained completely.

Also glad to hear that you are not going to completely tear your tank down... simplifying your system for now I think is the right way to go.
