    Why Do I Fail?

During acclimation, how do you keep the temp in the container the same as in the tank? Just because warm water from the tank is dripping in the container, it's still not enough to keep the temperature in the container stable. When i'm acclimating I always put the container propped up setting i'm...

Can't Find Hippo Tang - Wedged in Rock???

I've moved my rock hundreds of times and mixed up all kinds of gunk. I never got an ammonia spike, I believe that's a forum rumor. Your tang may be sick or dying. Yes, my tang has a spot he wedges himself in to sleep but as soon as my actinics come on, hes out and about. So if your tang is still...

    Damsels for cycling

I don't understand this practice either. Their is so many other sources of ammonia... Urine, ammonia for cleaning, and rancid seafood. I usually seed my new tanks from one of my established systems otherwise I use a rancid shrimp or some portion of seafood.

    last silly skimmer question

I'd get the aqua-c if i was you. I picked up a coralife super skimmer 65 for 30.00 just to have around. I sold it three days later because it sucked. The only thing that skimmer had going for it was the fact it had a decent pump to harvest for another project. I'll never buy another coralife...

Best way to thin out xenia?

I tried boiling water with 22g syringe. Shriveled up then was fine the next day. Take the rock out and use a hammer and flat head [hr] driver to chip a little of the rock off with the stalk so no part is left behind to re-grow.

My coralline did not start growing until I got my magnesium near 1350.... Coralline needs proper mag, cal, and alk to calcify from my understanding. Also one you get your mag up, you will notice you have to dose less calcium to maintain proper calc level. Proper mag= stable calcium level. This...
